What You Need to Know About Your Nissan Key Fob It's possible that you've lost your Nissan key fob or it just stopped working. Before you panic or call the dealer, look back and see where you last had it. It's easy to replace the battery on the key fob of your Nissan. It's not long before you'll get the hang of it. Smart Keys Keys The key fob that was included with the key fob that came with your Nissan is a crucial part of the car's advanced keyless entry system. Instructions for changing the batteries are available in your owner's manual. Intelligent Key Fob Nissan Intelligent Key Fobs allow you to unlock the doors of your car and start the engine with one touch. It also allows you to activate a collection of presets that are based on your preferences such as adjusting the mirrors and seat for maximum comfort. You can even control the music through your smartphone, so you'll never need to leave your vehicle. Once the vehicle has received the signal and the system is activated to unlock and lock doors, starting up the engine, and opening the trunk. If you want to test out the fob, stand at a distance away from your vehicle and press the buttons. Replace the old battery with a brand new one after taking out the old one. Make sure the positive side of the new battery is facing the same direction as the old one did. Finally shut the battery compartment and return the hidden key to its concealed location inside the case. Flip your fob upside down, and press the hidden latch on the backside of the keypad. Once the key pad is opened remove the battery and replace it with a brand new one, ensuring that it is of the same size and shape of the current battery. Before closing the case, make sure the hidden key is inserted again and the key fob is put back together correctly. A special module inside the power control unit monitors for impedance relay activity and then turns off the output. This option is only available to vehicles with the Smart Key system or through the personalization menu on the vehicle. Many serious accidents have occurred due to a machine being started when it should have been completely shut off for maintenance or repair. These incidents are typically the result of energy that has not been released correctly. Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO), which ensures that machines are shut off until an authorized individual releases them, helps prevent these incidents. The LOTO system is comprised of a number of locks, tags, and other devices to isolate, secure the machine from electricity. All “affected”, “authorized” and “qualified” personnel must be instructed in the use of these devices. These devices include but aren't only chains, locks, padlocks, wedges, adapter pins, and self-locking fasteners. Each device is unique and labeled, indicating the date and time that it was used as well as the name and title of the authorized person and the reason for the lockout or tagout (repairs maintenance, repairs, etc.). It is imperative to state clearly that these devices will not be removed until the LOTO procedure is complete.
